The Mesopotamos Monastery rises east of Finiq. Close to the village and to the east is the monastery of Agios Nikolaos, from which the catholic and part of the castle (belfry) are preserved.

The Mesopotamos Monastery rises east of Finiq. Close to the village and to the east is the monastery of Agios Nikolaos, from which the catholic and part of the castle (belfry) are preserved.
It was built in 306 AD by Konstantinos the Great and rebuilt by Emperor Constantine (1042-1045). The monastery was once surrounded by a tall castle like an acropolis of the entire hill. The length of the temple is about 18 m and 11 m wide. The domes and the trunks and bridges, crowns and ceramic decorations show that the temple was a large and bright building.
It is distinguished for its architectural originality. It was designated as a Class I Cultural Heritage Site on 03.17.1948 and 23.09.1971.
